Boating Programs
Hilton Head Sail & Power Squadron gives back to our community through our boating education programs, our vessel safety checks and our cooperative charting services.
Vessel Safety Check
A Vessel Safety Check is a courtesy examination of your boat (Vessel) to verify the presence and condition of certain Safety Equipment required by State and Federal regulations. The Vessel Examiner is a trained specialist and is a member or the US Power Squadrons or the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. The examiner will also make recommendations and discuss safety issues that will make you a safer boater.
Cooperative Charting Program
The Cooperative Charting program of the United States Power Squadrons® is conducted in close coordination with the Marine Chart Division, National Ocean Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the US Department of Commerce. The Program is a major public service of USPS. Under it, our squadron members supply information to the Marine Chart Division of NOS/NOAA leading to corrections to nautical charts, small craft charts, and Coast Pilot publications. We also supply data on depth surveys, range status, geodetic marks, and aeronautical charts.
