The Magellan Society

Beginning in March and culminating in August,
those in our Squadron who are new to the area had the opportunity
to learn the local waters, back channels, tides and currents by
taking monthly Magellan Society circumnavigation cruises around
local islands. These cruises offer a variety
of opportunities to explore local waterways and put into practice
many of the lessons learned in all our great Power Squadron classes.
Here’s the Calendar of
Magellan Society Circumnavigation Cruises for Spring/Summer
2012:
#1 Wednesday, March 28: Marsh & Buck Islands (followed by lunch at the Black Marlin)
#2 Wednesday, April 25: Pinckney Island (with a BYO picnic on the boats)
#3 Friday, May 25: Bull Island (followed by lunch at the Salty Dog)
#4 Tuesday, June 26: Page & Pine Islands (followed by lunch at the Daufuskie Crab Company)
#5 Tuesday, July 24: Daufuskie Island (followed by lunch at Marshside Mama’s)
#6 Wednesday, August 22: Hilton Head Island (followed by a season-ending lunch at The Boathouse)
Detailed plans will be forthcoming
as the proposed calendar is firmed up and further developed.
Magellan Society membership is FREE, BUT-
it is open ONLY to members of the Hilton Head Sail & Power Squadron, and you MUST apply in order to be included on the email list for advanced notice with details on all Magellan Society circumnavigation cruises.
