Inland Navigation Certification Program
Hilton Head Sail and Power Squadron is announcing
The Inland Navigation Certification Program
and invites all members to participate.
This Program has been developed by USPS National Education in conjunction with and approval from the US Coast Guard and State Boating Administrators, and it complies with United Nations Resolution #40, International Certificate of the Operation of Pleasure Craft. This certification is the 1st level leading to Coastal Navigation and Offshore Navigation. Inland pertains to rivers, lakes, ICW and coastal up to 2 NM offshore.

3 USPS Courses-
Seamanship
Engine Maintenance
Marine Electrical Systems
4 USPS Seminars-*
How to Use a Chart
Onboard Weather Forecasting
VHF & VHF/DSC Seminar
Using GPS Seminar
* Sail Trim & Rig Tuning Seminar required for sailboat operation
Underway Skill Demonstration of:
Basic Boat Handling
Use of Fire Extinguishers
Substitutions of equivalent prior boating education and/or experience possible
Cost savings for signing on to Certification Program; Couples discount
Classes begin October 22nd @ 7 pm at the S.H.A.R.E. Center Pope Avenue
